IQ 44, how to interpret?

My son is 15 year old is autistic and tested FullScale IQ 44.

His school told me to disregard and it is impossible to obtain an accurate IQ with learning disabilities.

True?

They feel he is more like 70,

Yeah, I do have the same opinion about the IQ tests and how it is interpreted. His teachers can be more accurate as he is always monitored by them and they will better know how he faces a problem and finds its solutions.

They are right!

As far as correctness of the IQ test results is concerned, I feel even the routine tests are not accurate. I have gone through this website and found many opinions which agree to me that IQ test results just show your current mental alertness. If you are tired, if there is noise around the examination center, if you could not sleep well last night or have some depression, tension or headache etc, your IQ test scores may be not as good as they should be.
